WHY DO AN AUDIT?

Doing “digital” can be intimidating for churches. There are times where the staff and volunteers who assist the church may have the ability to manage the digital channels at hand, but may not have the expertise to be able to help create a strategy to grow and expand. This is where THECHURCH.DIGITAL comes in.

THECHURCH.DIGITAL utilizes a one-day audit to better understand your church digitally, but also its mission and vision. Your digital strategy is unique to your church, just as your church’s mission, vision and strategy make you unique. Through our audits, THECHURCH.DIGITAL will do extensive analysis based on your existing digital footprint (website, social media, mass emails, mobile app, local directories, search engines, etc). In addition to examining your digital footprint, we want to understand your church’s goals so we can better serve your church. Ultimately, alongside your leadership, we will create a digital strategy that is very purposeful in helping your church achieve its mission and vision.

Currently, THECHURCH.DIGITAL offers five different audits:

  • Digital Communications Audit - we'll examine your website, social media, app, etc. and help you discover a strategy for your digital communications.
  • Online Campus: Starting from Scratch - interested in starting an Online Campus, but don't know where to start?
  • Online Campus: To the Next Level - your Online Campus has so much unrealized potential to help you achieve your church's mission/vision.
  • Church Management Systems & Software Integration Analysis - it all starts here. Considering changing Church Management Systems? Are you utilizing your current system to it's fullest extent?
  • Streamlining the Weekend Experience - there's a lot of moving pieces in the weekend. Worship, Teaching, Live Production, Guest Services, Communications/Creative. It's easy to get frustrated or stuck in a rut.

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENS IN AN AUDIT?

Step 1: QUESTIONNAIRE FILLED OUT BY LEADERSHIP, STAFF

The first step in our audits is to have select members of your staff or leadership complete a short questionnaire. This helps us understand more of what’s happening at your church before we meet. We encourage as many people as appropriate fill out the questionnaire, as more opinions can give us a fuller picture of what’s happening. These questionnaires will guide our examination as we look at your church’s presence digitally.

Step 2: ANALYSIS OF WHAT YOUR CHURCH IS CURRENTLY DOING

Before we meet, we’ll sort through the answers to the questionnaire, but we’ll also examine your church’s digital presence, including digital communications, website, online church, etc. We want to experience everything your church is digitally. In an attempt to better understand how your church's mission and vision, we love reading your membership stuff or how you communicate your mission/vision to your church. Send it our way.

The questionnaires and our examinations are a prelude for our conversations during the audit, which is the next step.

Step 3: Onsite Audit, DEVELOPING YOUR DIGITAL STRATEGY

And then we meet, for a one-day meeting, on your property. Who we meet with is at complete discretion of church leadership. The end-game for the audit is to empower your church staff and volunteers with digital tools, resources and guidance to achieve an effective digital strategy for your church. Essentially, the purpose of these meetings is to develop:

  1. A long term digital strategy that will better utilize digital for your church’s mission and vision.

  2. Short-term goals that are achievable with your existing staff and volunteer structure.

  3. A written report discussing the findings of the audit, and detailing the strategy and next steps.

  4. The role of THECHURCH.DIGITAL and other vendors in achieving your short or long-term goals.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE AUDIT?

THECHURCH.DIGITAL does have relationships with a large number of vendors that are comfortable with ministry who can help you achieve your goals, but priority first is to do this with your staff or volunteers. Utilizing outside help, as expected, is completely at the discretion of your church. We can help negotiate pricing as needed to help make sure you are paying for the services that you need.
