Platforms as Places: Rethinking the Digital Map

Jason Morris

Part of the 2025 BASE Summit Series. Neighborhoods reframes the digital world as a map of real places: every platform is a neighborhood with its own culture, rhythms, and people who are — right now — somewhere on the road toward God.

Rather than treating "online" as one flat space, this summit equips digital missionaries to read the spiritual readiness of a given platform and show up there as a neighbor, not a billboard.

Questions

What does "platforms as places" mean?
That every platform is a neighborhood rather than a channel — it has its own culture, rhythms and residents. Ministry there looks like being a neighbor in a specific place, not broadcasting into a flat space called "online".
What is spiritual readiness mapping?
Reading where the people on a given platform actually are on the road toward God, so you meet them at that point rather than assuming one message fits every audience.
